20,000 Mile Service
All our services are performed by factory trained Harley Davidson technicians . Our technicians are trained through the Harley Davidson’s Vehicle Maintenance training program at the factory and have years of experience and training when it comes to working on your motorcycle. 20,000 mile service procedures are listed below.
- Inspect oil and brake line for leaks
- Inspect and clean air cleaner
- Inspect tread and check tire pressure
- Check wheel spoke tightness*
- Replace primary chain case fluid
- Replace transmission fluid
- Adjust and lube clutch cable
- Inspect rear sprockets and adjust rear belt
- Adjust and lubricate throttle and enrichner cables
- Lubricate clutch and brake levers
- Inspect fuel valve, lines and fittings for leaks
- Check brake fluid level and condition
- Inspect rear swing arm bearings
- Inspect windshield and bushings
- Inspect brake pads and discs for wear
- Inspect and lubricate brake components
- Inspect and lubricate shifter linkage
- Check operation of electrical equipment and switches
- Electrical diagnostic trouble code check
- Adjust and lubricate steering head bearing
- Lubricate hinges and latches
- Check pressure of air suspension ****
- Check tightness of all critical fasteners
- Inspect engine mounts and stabilizer links
* Only applicable for motorcycles with spoke wheels ** Not applicable for motorcycles with an automatic primary chain tensioner *** Applicable for pre 1999 motorcycles with Timken bearings ( 2000 and later factory motorcycles have sealed wheel bearings) ****Applicable for motorcycles with air suspension
